TenCate Australia supply heavily needle-punched polyester Non-wovens to control tree roots when made into bags. Our Root Control Non-wovens are made from non-biodegradable black polyester. Trees or shrubs planted in the ground are contained in tree bags, specially designed to restrict root expansion through the fine openings in the Root Control Non-wovens. Our Root Control Non-wovens have a high resistance to puncture, as the root tip grows through the bag. Further outward growth is restricted by the tightly bound bag structure. This promotes healthy root growth as moisture and nutrients are allowed to pass freely through the bag wall and increased root branching occurs.
Our Root Control Non-wovens are environmentally friendly making more efficient land utilisation and enhancing the quality and post harvest of the tree.
